Hi guys I want to buy a table top tripod that would be solid enough to hold my Pentax 65mm spotter, most Ive seen are cheapies like 20-50$ bucks and I'm not sure they are good enough.
Do you guys have any suggestions on what would be a good compact tripod?
Thanks
Elmer

IMG_0236.JPG I built mine out of a piece of 3/4" steel plate that is 7 1/2" in diameter.
Used a $20. tripod head, off of Amazon, or Ebay, and a 3" steel handle off Ebay
One 3/8" hole in the center, and 2, 3/16" holes about 3/8" from the Outside edge.
Put 4 rubber feet on and your in business. weighs in at about 10 lbs, solid!

Recently I received an email about a new tripod that LabRadar have released for bench mounting a chronograph which looked solidly made. Otherwise you may like to look at a Manfrotto Mini tripod.
