I'm looking to see what everyone's favorite combo is for there 7mm. I'm shooting H-1000 right know and groups are not as good as this gun should be shooting. Coming outta 26" barrel. Hearing a Lotta good stuff bout IMR-7828, H-4831sc and Retumbo but I usually like shooting steel at 50 to 70 degrees but come deer season it usually runs around the 20 to 30 degrees when I'm hunting.

Im having great luck with H-1000 and a 160 gr. Nosler AB. .75 or better if I do my job correctly. This is from a 26 inch barrel on a model 70 hunting rifle. I havnt tried any other powders as this worked from the get go.

H1000 is working for me, (2864fps at 66.6 grains w/ 180 hybrid and 26" tube) but my smith, who shoots a lot of competitions uses H4831sc in his 284. For what that's worth.

Dust, 168 Berger VLD, H-4831SC, 215M primer in Hornady brass. Rem 700 in bedded factory walnut stock, 24" standard barrel. Very accurate load and DRT game. Tried H-1000 and IMR7828SSC also. Every rifle is different physically, no load is guaranteed to be perfect in your rifle. Trying several powders and if available bullets will get you that best load. Good luck

imr 7828 & 7828ssc for 140,145 & 150grn
rl 22 for 162 & 175
always mag primer

To me you've got that backwards... Because 7828 has a slower burn rate than Reloder 22. :D

7828 (and 7828 SSC) sit 1 spot above Reloder 25 on the burn chart, which means it's good bit slower than 22. Therefore, it would be better suited for your heavier bullets and larger case capacity calibers.

I stopped using RL19 and RL22 for real loads when I realized that neither one was temp stable in any of my calibers. So, now I just use them for fire-forming cases with. I have found 7828 SSC to be extremely temp stable, and probably the most versatile powder I've ever seen. I use it in everything from my .25-06AI and .30-06 AI, up to my 7 STW's and big .300 Ackley.

Berger Hunting VLD 168's

Reloader 25 works best for me
Reloader 19 and IMR 7828 SSC were similar to each other, but distant seconds
And H-1000 was the worst. Couldn't shoot a MOA group at 300 yards.

In 2013 I shot a mule buck with a Rem700 Shilen barrel I chambered.
In 2014 I shot a mule buck and an antelope buck with a stock Browning 1885.

Both rifles like:

140 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip moly 3.34" 70 gr H4350.

Both rifle chronograph at 3400 fps.

Quickload predicts 3400 fps and 75kpsi. When QL and the chrono agree, the pressure is probably right.

The extractor groove starts to grow the tiniest amount at 72 gr., so I am running a 3% safety margin.
