im trying to find out which powder will work best in a 26" 300W -my initial testing will be with berger 175VLD and 175SMK, but would like to know what other good performers are in this caliber i like berger and swift scirocco 180, anyone know of nice accurate and weight retaining bullets in the 200/220 gn class?
have a reloading manual but not what im lookign for - ill be shooting primarily from 200 to 600 with the 175/180's and around 150-300 with the 220's - ideas - suggestions anyone?

I have tried most of them and I found H1000 to my liking. I shoot 1K and use the Sierra 220gr. Matchking/ 240gr. Matchking and am working a load up for the JLK 210 VLD's. My barrel is a 26" 1" stainless and the H1000 is about as slow as you can go without more tube.

Accurate Powder Magpro is throwing down some impressive numbers with 210 VLD's out of a 24 inch barrel. Something like 2950 fps. Find what LTLR has been doing in recent threads. He just commented on some testing he had done with Magpro and the 300 Win Mag.

For the 180gr class don't rule out H4831, RL 22, or Ramshot Magnum. I've even had good speed and spread with H4350 but just couldn't get them to group in that rifle. Any gun can be very particular, so don't get hung up on one or two powders. If you have certain powders that you want use up, try playing around with seating depth. But don't seat the bullet into the lands with a hot load. Work up !!!!
