I have found some 8# jugs of AR15-Comp and Ramshot TAC. What is best for paper punch and your favorite load

Thanks in advance

I would like to second the suggestion of CFE223.
I use it for 223 and it performs well with temperature changes much better than BLC-2.
My son tried CFE223 in his .308 rounds for his DPMS and it was SCAREY. I would not recommend CFE223 for .308.

We use 26 grns on top of CCI srm primers in Winchester cases.

When I read the original post I thought that maybe the powder had not yet been purchased.
I have had no luck with the powders mentioned in the original post with 55 and 62 grain projectiles and wanted to help with an inquiry and suggest an alternative that I have had success with.

I would suggest that one always work up loads with single pounds of powder before investing in an 8 pound keg of a powder that one has to ask for loads for.

A certain rifle may or may not shoot well with certain powders and I am not rich enough to buy unproven powders to try them out.

The thread is titled "the best powder for .223 55 and 62 grn?" I believe.

Sorry for wasting your time.

Good luck working up loads.

Ramshot X-Terminator works really well with the Nosler 55grain Ballistic Tips for me.

X-terminator also works well with 55gr Blitzkings and Hornady 75gr BTHP's.

I run 55 grain sgk with 26 grains of H335 and CCI small magnum primers it works great out of my 16" carbine with 1/9 twist.

Sorry man, I had to laugh a little at your rant. When you start a thread titled "Best powder for ....." people will click on the last page shortcut, quick reply and add their two cents without reading anything between.

I shoot 62 gr Varmaggedon's with AR-Comp and love the accuracy from it in my AR. I'd post a pic, but dont have it right now. It's a very light load, 2839 fps @ est. 48k psi. I will exceed the case capacity if I try to hit the next faster node.

I don't have TAC, but here is a comparison between the two in the bullet weights you mentioned. You can safely reach an accurate node using both powders. AR-Comp is slightly less PSI in both weights. (I kept CFE 223 in there just for the hell of it.) These estimates are for .223 pressures.
