Berger .30 Cal

Hybrids are the way to go. From my experiences they will shoot well with a wide range of distances from the lands.

I have loaded hybrids for:

6mm: 105 and 95 6BR (2 rifles) 6mm-284 (3)

6.5 140: 6.5 creedmoor (2)

7mm 168 and 180: 7 RUM (1), 7-375 Ruger (1), 7 rem mag (5), 284 win (2)

30 cal 168, 215 and 230: 30BR (1) 308 30-06 (1) 300 win mag (4) 300 RUM (1)

338 cal 300 gr: 338-375 Ruger (1), 338 RCM (2)

I seat a hybrid to fit and feed from a magazine and work up the powder charge. Have not had to alter seating depth to fine tune for better group size.

I don't have hybrids, at least not yet. Loaded 190gr berger in my 300RUM. Ran them as long as my magazine well would allow. Haven't had time to test yet

If it's not grouping as well as you would like try shortening the cartridge overall length in 0.010" steps.

I ran 185 and 190 hunting vld's at magazine length in my 300 rum for years with factory barrel. Very accurate. With new barrel running 215's and they shoot great.
