Well that sucks, was hoping for a heavy JLC high bc bullet, oh well, I still have a bunch of 325 gr Chinchaga RBT ST bullets and they work great for moose,

Looks like Berger has notified online retailers of it's demise, last Sunday I screenshot the 329 gr bullet on Midways website and it was listed as"temporarily unavailable", just checked Midway and it's now listed as "discontinued"

the good news is that Badlands Precision is making the new high bc Super Bulldozer 2 in 275 gr and I've got some coming

I think Berger will release another heavier 338 Bullet. Not sure the reason they discontinued the 329 project. There's a big demand for a heavier 338 bullet. Time will tell.

I might try some of the badlands in my 25-284. It has a 1-7.25" twist. So it might stabilize them. I used 3300 FPS in the stability calculator at it was around 1.38 if I remember right. I'm at 1500 ft.

My buddy's .257 Wby mag shoots the 110s fine from a 7.5 twist barrel at 1000'asl. I think his velocities are around 3300 which are fairly conservative. He's pushed them around 3400 but accuracy is poor. With 3300 fps at 1000', 7.5T, I showed 1.45 on the calculator. Marginal stability. That's using Badlands .570, 1.43" bullet length. Something is a little off but his is shooting them fine out to 600 yards. I'm close to finishing my 25-284 build and I'll try them as well.

The barrel I have am going to be using is a 1:7 so I am hoping it won't be too fast. If so I guess I will have to try the 128gr Hammer which recommends 1:7.

I'd bet it will still work fine. Just keep the throat smoothed out as it ages so it doesn't start tearing jackets apart.

I typically don't load super hot, so hopefully that will keep the RPM down and the barrel life a little longer.

I remember my first 6.5-284. It was a 8.5 twist barrel. At the time, everyone stated that it was perfect. Today, it's too slow to stabilize most of the heaviest bullets available. Today my 6.5-284 barrels are 7.5 twist. Barrels aren't that expensive but I'd prefer a little faster barrel than one on the slower side. I don't own a .25 caliber rifle yet as mine isn't quite finished yet. I built it on a 7.5 twist barrel. I built it for heavier bullets but it will still run lighter bullets fine. The 110s will be around 315,000 rpms. The 7 twist barrel will run the 120-135 bullets ok. Don't run the lighter bullets at light speeds and you should be fine. My 22-250 AI runs 80s at 3550 in an 8 twist barrel. It's even faster than 315,000 rpms. Never lost a bullet from spin rate being too fast. If the .257 caliber takes hold and sees followers increase, even heavier bullets will start showing up and that 7 twist barrel will be more common for all the cartridges in .257.

I have a 25 PRC running the 131 Blackjacks and I they perform very well at accuracy node of 3260 fps. I pushed them to see where they maxed-out and they would not reach the target at 3400. I believe Blackjack recommends 3300 as max for a 1:7 twist and that seems consistent with my findings. Great to see other manufacturers stepping-up with new 25 cal options and looking forward to testing them. My next magnum class 25 will be a 1:7.5 twist.

Your well over 345,000 rpms with that setup. No doubt the bullet could fail. 300-315K rpms seems to be a maximum number for many bullets. Some can make it faster and some don't make it at those speeds. Generally speaking, anything over 320K is the danger zone.
