Berger 205 Grain Elite Hunter

I'm interested in this bullet too, does anyone have any experience with it yet? I talked to someone at Berger about it and obviously they recommended it over the 215 hybrid because the 205 is a "hunting" bullet

I have a box but I haven't loaded or shot any yet, I might have to come up with a simple load for the 300 and shoot some deer to see how they do. But I've also never used the 215s so I wouldn't be able to compare them

Old thread, but I have shot these in my 30 nosler. With 83g retumbo I got 3035 fps in a 26" carbon 6 barrel. .65 to .62 moa in my hands, but my dead eye buddy got .33 moa out of it. Haven't used on an animal so I can't tell you about terminal ballistics. This isn't max load for my gun, but it is just starting to show light primer flattening. Works well for guys like me limited by mag length. Basically a 3.5" overall length has me just barely touching the lands with a saami spec throat length.

Last weekend I was finding the load.
Before that I use 200 gr ELDX with same powder, bullet are similiar weight and shape and powder is same lot so I started in 81gr and find best group up to 83gr (eldx is on 83.4 but have bigger jump).
At the 83 I found great group (one rouged hole at 100m) and I did not try any higer than that ,but from my expirience pressure is near max ,from my expirience 300 wm have best group at the near max pressure so I assume 83.3 or 4 is max max.

at 842 yards I shoot 4 rounds in to 4-5cm which is about 0.2 MOA (very happy).
My jump is 0.65 mm(milimeters) and my CBTO is 73.45 mm.
300 win mag virgin Norma brass
205 berger
26" barrel
10" twist
83.0 gr of N570 (no compresion)
speed is 3110 FPS (over labradar)
all veryfied up to 770m (842y)

Barrel is supermatch L&W.
Little pictures from verifying BC and drop (target is from 550m).

Just an update. Barrel sped up a little with my load to 3070 fps. (83g retumbo 3.5" coal) shot my elk at 849 yards, double lung and the bullet was on the offhand side just under the hide, so all energy was dumped into the animal. Quite controlled expansion. Elk stayed on his feet for about 2 minutes, but never took a step. I was on him and ready, but could tell he was done.
