Bear Hunter input please

Guy, 10 miles from town has no bearing on identification of the type of bear it is. You may find his tracks in your yard some moring:D
Sounds like this is a well used deer hunting area. The bear is likely aware of this and is hanging out there because gut piles are plentiful. Sometimes with
a lot of people activity around they will brush up during the day and feed at night.
If you still doubt, look at the claw mark similarities between the first photo and the one taken in Alaska. The distance the claw marks are out in front of the toes is much the same. You will not see a black bear track like this.
BTW the second photo taken in Alaska is a picture of the track of the left front
foot of about a 9 footer, give or take a few inches. (I'm guessing the track at
about 8 inches wide from comparision of the boot.)
