Barrel Damage?

Looking at a friends barrel with the Teslong bore scope this is what we found in the stainless steel barrel.

Does anyone know what caused this? They kind of look like pressure rings with material erosion? Just a guess on my part.

Any help would be appreciated.

It looked like pitting but I couldn't tell the extent with the mirror on- I can't turn it very far I either direction.

How does the rifle shoot? Has your friend had issues with it?

Not that I would know the answer, but how far down the barrel is this ring?

About 3 inches. There are actually about six of these over about an inch and a half linear distance in barrel Some worst than others

Always a flier according to him. We discovered this after a cleaning.

If near the muzzle end, looks like marks left by a non-rotating pilot or sighting diopter.
Is the muzzle threaded?

It looks like tooling marks but not something that could have been caused by the manufacturer. The marks clearly go through the lands and grooves and metal is pulled up on the lands. It's really hard to see but it doesn't look like pitting from this angle.
