barrel contours

sir,
would a 5 or 6 hart or shilen barrel contour
be a good comprmise in 30 inch length on a 30 cal. mag cartridge on a long range rifle?
i have a 700 action,a 40 x stock for this rifle but want to keep rifle at say 12 lbs so i can carry it hunting.

Same contour as your 40X will work just fine. The 40X weighs 13 # from the factory with a wood stock.
