Barnes match burner bullets?

I have had the 112's shoot good in 6 Creed. Very explosive. Don't think I would try shooting deer with them.

I used the 112 in my 6-284 last year on a speed goat. You're absolutely right, they are a bit explosive, especially at 6-284 velocity. Even at 330yds, it was a bit grenade-ish, I lost most of a front shoulder. Now, at 600-700yds... I'm thinking it's exactly what the doctor ordered.

OP, i'd have no problem trying the 145.

They shot great in my Creed with 6.5 Sta-ball. At the time that was the only powder I had. Have not played with the BC yet to see. I usually do a "custom curve" in my Kestrel. I will be working it up with H4350 and will report what I find.
Those two powders seem to be the better choices in the CM.

I shoot the 145 out of my 6.5 CM. It is an 18" and I got a good node at 2657 fps .075" off. I plug in with the advertised bc and have had no issues with the drop it gives me to 1500 I haven't gone to a mile yet.. my gun doesn't love h4350 but it settled in perfectly with rl-16, after talking to a friend that recommended them to me he pushes them with 26 out of a 24" barrel over 2800 not sure on specific velocity. But so far the bullet has been excellent.. I have never had any issues with Barnes given bc values, they have very helpful customer service as well!

I run them in my 1-8 6.5 creed with 4831sc very accurate. I'm running with a .64 g1 at 800 ft above sea level. I hex coat mine in a tumbler so the tips get flattened some. Very consistent though.

I had a good experience off the bat with the 145gr out of a 20" ctr 260 but I was getting up to 40 thou length differences between boxes and quite a bit of lot to lot inconsistencies.
I was sad to see that because I shot some great 500 yard groups with them but I didn't have the confidence in them from box to box.
never took them last 500 to really test out the BC.
switched to the 142smk and things are better….

Good bullets - look like tangent ogive types, not fussy for seating depth. Photos are for 8 twist 6.5-06 with 140 & 8 twist 6mm CM with 105. Not shown is the 8 twist 6.5 120 B Match Burner, 6.5 CM & 47 grains of R-S Hunter, almost as good and was real easy to develop load, like right out of Hodgdon 2022 manual. Good advisory ^, now I gotta start measuring & sorting.

Both barrels, 6 CM & 6.5-06 were McGowen made and re-barreled by McGowen in Kalispell, on Ruger M77 MKII actions, both 8 twist. The 6 CM has a stainless, 5R 8 twist, McGowen 4 contour 24" barrel having a recessed crown. I hope to try both out at 1,000 this summer with Barnes Match Burner Bullets & Hornady ELDM's.

I seen the Barnes match burner 145 instock. Looked them up and the bc is listed at .703, has anybody shot these and was the bc close at all? Seems like it's a little high. Were the bullets accurate?
ZR600 I have an update on the 145MB in my 8" twist 28" Bartlein Creed. I said I would report back with my results on them with H4350.

Load I came up with in my rifle:
Lapua SRP brass 1X
GM205M primer
40.8gr H4350 (Like always work up)
2.127 BTO 40 thou off lands
ES7 SD3.5 Ave MV 2,784

100 yard groups 3/8ths ish if I do my part. I HAVE NOT tested long range yet. That is all I have left to do. Will report back when I do. Hoping they do well in the 600-1,400 distance. If so I will be happier than a pig in poo because they are the cheapest high BC bullet I am aware of.

I shoot the 145's in my 6.5 SST Sherman and they shoot well. Shot a 12X12 Steel target yesterday @ 1050 yards hit it 4 out of five shots. That's as good as this old man can shoot. They don't shoot quite as well in my 6.5 GAP but still 1/2-3/4 MOA in that rifle as well.
Would you mind sharing your load data?
