Barnes LRX Jump

Well, I'm getting good speed from them without before pressure. About 3080fps. My ladder from like 55gr - 62 gr has about 7.0" of vertical at 100 yards! There appear to be nodes in there…..maybe. That is huge IME.

I'm going to do an OCW 5x5 from 60 - 61.5gr…we'll see what I get.

Well, looks like 60.9gr is sd under 10 and ES of 20…not bad. I'm gonna work on depth now.

Thinking 10 x 3shot groups at 100 yards. I'm wanting to start at 0.020", but it seems like Barnes and you fine folks are suggesting 0.050" as min…,so I would be shooting 0.050 - 0.095" depths off lands.

Any reason to try 0.020" range out to 0.050"? or should I double my increments and shoot 0.020" - 0.110" in 0.010" increments? My gut tells me bigger than 0.006" increments and I likely miss the node.

Yea, crazy results today. 0.090" off the lands shot best.

I'm going to try stopping load development and confirming 5 shot groups here. Looks like I have 21 prepped cases to do this confirmation.

Confirmation is where I shoot 5 shot groups at moderate pace…about 1 min per shot and 3-5min cool down between groups. All shots are one chrono group to get a good velocity ES and Sd.

So Barnes recommends 0.050" minimum jump. That seems like a mile! What is working for you guys?

Also, what loads are working best? Hotter or backed off a bit?

Any other tips?
My 280AI liked .030" jump with Barnes and all the rest of my hunting rifles preferred the .050" jump but my 338RCM jumps over .12" due to mag restrictions but it still shoots .5
