Barnes Ammo for Elk?

Barnes VOR-TX Ammunition 140 Grain TTSX Polymer Tipped Spitzer Boat Tail or Nosler Trophy Grade Ammunition 7mm Remington Magnum 160 Grain AccuBond? Thanks again!

At 3,100 fps and .412 advertised BC it will carry 1,500 fps(lowest speed for expansion) out to 800 yards but only 702 ft-lb of energy. 1522 ft-lbs at 400 yards, 1,266 at 500 yards, and 1,045 ft-lbs at 600 yards. It all depends on how they shoot in your gun.
hammer Bullets will make custom ammunition for your gun if you don't reload.

The 140 or 150 ttsx loads are great but the function on the 139 LRX is phenomenal. The ammo is a premium load but will be found on the shelf for less than the standard vor-tx.

Barnes Bullets are awesome on elk! I've used 30 cal 180 TTSX in 300WM as well as 6.5 cal 127 LRX in Creedmoor. All excellent. Full penetration. No bullet fragments in the meat. Dead critters. From 80 yards to 600. Barnes is my hunting bullet of choice. Very majestic animals. Being a meat hunter I appreciate the clean kills of Barnes bullets.

I have been using Barnes for 15 years on deer and Elk. With a properly placed shot all animals taken never went farther than about 25 yards. My goto rifle is a Browning Titanium Mountain Rifle in 300 WSM shooting reloads and 168 TTSX. I once posted a question about jumping up to 180s and every body responded WHY, if you are getting the results you want.

After looking at some reviews and answers, what about Barnes VOR-TX Ammunition 140 Grain TTSX Polymer Tipped Spitzer Boat Tail for elk? Does it have a enough knock down power? Thanks again!
Yes! According to Barnes you only have to stay above 1,800 feet per second to utilize all of this amazing bullets efficiency and performance.
