Work hard for 30 years and raise your family. Get Kirby to build you an elk rifle. Scout hard for three weeks and find five bull elk. Of the five, hunt the only one you actually scared. Kill the elk and cut him up and haul him out. When you get home package everything up and put in the freezer.

Two years later take the elk tenderloin out of the freezer and thaw in a pan of water.

Get a large oven baking bag out and put in a 8X11 baking pan. Add all ingredients and bake at 350 for about 2 hours.

Ingredients

Elk tenderloin (the bigger the better although the little ones are easier to tote out)
Package of Lipton's onion soup
1-2 cups of water
Package of frozen stew vegetable (fresh would have been better)

When done place the tenderloin on a platter and slice. Then add the vegetables to each side just like Julia Childs did it before she croaked.

So? How did it taste?

Two years to get around to eating the tenderloin. Wow, that's usually the first cut to get eaten in our house.

Cheers!

here's one i like...

season the tenderloin to your taste.....i use a mixture of lowry's season salt, salt, pepper and whatever else is handy.....wrap bacon strips around tenderloin and pin in place with toothpicks......cover with sliced onions........wrap in aluminum foil and grill over coals (or on your BBQ grill)......low heat for 1/2 hr to 45 mins.......dont over cook it!!!!!

i like to serve it with home made biscuits, garlic mashed potatoes and a good merlot.......preferably in the company of someone of the opposite sex who always thought wild game tasted "gamey"....this usually leads to some pleasant after dinner conversation while the rest of the merlot is finished off.... An elk only has two tenderloins so if you are only getting lucky with the ladies twice a year you might as well be married.:D

did you hear the one......

about the guy going through the pharmacy with his young son? when they walked by the condoms the boy asked what they were. "Those are what guys use to have safe sex" he told his son.....why are there 2 in this pack? those are for high school boys....one for friday one for saturday night.....why are there 4 in this pack?....college boys.....2 for friday 2 for saturday.....why 12 in this pack?......those are for married guys.......january, february, march........:D

BTW: the recipe works on almost any cut of meat.....
