I’m wondering if anybody has seen this before . So I have a 30 nosler built on a rem 700 with proof barrel 1-10 twist 26” .
I received this gun in a trade and it’s shot great since I got it.
The previous owners load was 210 vld with 84 gr retumbo.
My load I’m using 205 elite with 81 gr of
RL 26 at 3060 fps.
The brass wants to separate after about the 3rd firing.
So I backed off my load to 79.5 gr but I do not think its pressure now.
Hope fully you can see in the picture where it’s wanting to separate.
You can see the line about 3/4 “ up from the case head on the fired cases.
So I looked at my sized but unfired cases and you can the see the same line on the unfired brass. Primer pockets are like new.
I believe that this could flawed brass but thought I would get a second opinion.
I was suspecting pressure until I seen it on the unfired cases. And I didn’t think 3060 fps was overly hot for a 30 nosler.
My dies are Redding.
First pic is fired 2x brass. Would not make a second firing.
Second pic is one on 3 firing almost split right though.
3 rd pic you can see the line in the same spot that the split happens but on a new sized and unfired piece .
Any thoughts on this ?
