Arkansas waterfowl outfitter

My brother is big into waterfowl hunting. Him and a buddy in Michigan are thinking of an Arkansas waterfowl hunt in 2024-2025. Anyone have recommendation on a guide?

There are some good hunts be had I'm sure.

This far south the migration isn't a guarantee anymore. The birds don't come here out of habit in large numbers.
They have to be forced by severe winter weather, snow cover etc.
I know of some very expensive private clubs that have been watching numbers taper down here for a long time, sadly.
We just had the highest number of mallards I've seen in a long long long time a few weeks ago, but due to different ag practices, refuge enhancement north of us and mild winters this is a freak event.

In my opinion I'd try to hunt north of Tennessee and Arkansas for more consistency.

Go to the Dakotas for a great duck hunt in Oct or Nov.

call Jay Coker @ Dry Lake Hunting Service. Just outside of Stuttgart AR. Jay is a good guy with a great place. I went to High School with him and have hunted with him several times. If I didn't have a place of my own thats who I would hunt with.

I would hunt the Mississippi river between Wis.and Mn. in late oct.-mid nov.....

There are several around Stuttgart. I live in Arkansas. I don't duck hunt. But my friends do.

IMO .... Arkansas is not what it used to be for ducks. Warm Winters, Changing Migration patterns, etc... I would look at OK, N TX, and MO... just my 2 cents.

Problem is you can no longer legally bring them back over the border in an ice chest. We stopped making our annual trek to Manitoba because of this. Biden Admin seems to think the birds crossing over frozen in an ice chest are a greater threat for bird flu than the live ones flying over. Not a scientist, but don't understand the logic.
