I am heading out to the Middle Forks area in a little over a week, I'll be hunting Unit 28 starting October 3rd. There's one fairly well contained fire in the Northern portion of my unit, but the fires are raging pretty good to the West and Southwest currently. Any locals that can provide any input as to what to expect, ie: how heavy is the smoke cover over the mountains, what affect in elk behavior (if any).
