Are new Remington 700s with 5R rifling any good?

Are they accurate?I am not expecting a stock rifle to shoot like a custom, but 1" groups at 100 yards would be nice. Thanks ahead for any input,Huntz

My gen2 308 is a solid 3/8MOA performer. I've got the 24" version. I put it in a McMillan A3 and put a jewel trigger. Area 419 brake and Wyatt magazine assembly. I run PRS matches with it. Topped with an NXS 5.5-22x50. Quality is decent but could be improved. But what do you expect from a 900$ rifle? Saturday I went 6 for 9 on 12" plates at 1002 yards including a first round hit with it. I won that stage :) Both of the 700 5R rifles have shot exceptionally well.

I bought two in December. A 6.5CM 24" barrel and a 20" .308

The .308 has less than 35 rounds down the tube, and my first load development produced this at 120yds-

That's all stock including trigger. Leupold scope, virgin Peterson brass and Sierra 168MK bullets.

Haven't owned a 5r 700 but senderos. I would be willing to bet on moa accuracy or better with a 5r.

I have a 5R Gen 2 .308 with the 20" pipe, Jewel trigger as well, and it's a 1/2 moa all day. It shoots bug holes with 175 gr smk's suppressed. I will say though, my smith did a little accurizing work to it before I ever fired it.
