Was wondering who if anyone makes custom caliber gauges and any idea what they cost? I would like to get one for my 336's in 35 Remington.
That's not going to work the way you think. You have to measure the outside. Hornady LnL guage is the best tool for this. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/4...headspace-gauge-5-bushing-set-with-comparatorA gauge which you can insert a re-sized bottle necked piece of brass into and if flush with the face of the opening it is sized properly and need not have the shoulder bumped back the customary 0.002".
Have such a gauge would eliminate having to test by chambering it in my rifle and accelerate my reloading process.
LE Wilson has them for a 35 Remington. They cost $38.00.Was wondering who if anyone makes custom caliber gauges and any idea what they cost? I would like to get one for my 336's in 35 Remington.
I have tried this making a seat depth gauge and the barrel stub is hard to get spinning tru and the reamer cuts it differently than the barrel itself, being the barrel is held on a pivot and supported in the back, and the dimensions are offI have read that some people have such a thing made when they have a new barrel chambered. They have the maker use a piece of cut off barrel and then make a gauge with the same chamber reamer. That is the key, has to be made to match your chamber.
As has been said, properly measuring will tell you the same thing. If you want to know your exact chamber size, make a cast of the chamber.

Measure a properly sized case. Compare your fired cases to that.
