Anyone with a X-Bolt 280 Ackley

Can you do me a favor and measure the magazine for COAL. I am wondering if it is actually longer than the standard 270/30'06 or if just the feed rail design is different. If you also have a standard 270/30'06 and could photograph them side by side, that would be awesome!

The long standard mag opening is .005" longer (3.6155" vs 3.6105"). The AI mag's feed rails are .017" wider than the std. The internals of the long std are too narrow to accomodate more than one 280AI round.

Cannot help you there. I don't have another X-bolt to compare. I only have the long std mag because a sales clerk sold me the wrong one.

Can you put both magazines in and visually see if there is a difference between them and the feed rails.

Finding a 280 Ackley X-Bolt is ridiculous, but I have a 270 available locally for cheap.

I don't see any difference. A 3.6" 280AI feeds fine from the long std mag, but then it will only fit one round.
