Anyone take Deer with a .25cal 110 grain ELD-X Bullet?

I could not get the 110 EDLX to shoot out of my 25-06. But we have shot a good number of game with them in other cartridges. They act very similar to Nosler Ballistic tips in terms of retention and performance. Past 400 yds they generally make a nice mushroom around 60% retention. Under 300 typically lead core will separate from copper jacket with 50% or less retention. All have penetrated and usually under off side hide.

They will be great for deer if your rifle likes them.

Hi.
It would seem that the market for high bc .25cal bullets is increasing. Berger have thrown their hat in the ring with this NEW! Berger 25 Caliber 135 Grain Long Range Hybrid Target™ Bullets | Berger Bullets

Not a hunting bullet but nice to see the .25 going strong.

yah I saw that. Seeing as the 131's are proving to be superbly accurate and bc matches I'll probably stick with them. The bergers hybrids tend to work well for hunting but I'll let others test that out first, as some of there lines don't work well and others are fantastic. There has been a pretty decent amount of game taken with the 131 blackjacks and 0 reported issues that I've seen.
The first deer I took was at 550 and she dropped so fast like lightening struck her. After 2 mins she gathered her facilities and got to her feet and made it 20 yards and died. The blood trail was wider then the red carpet. The second deer was at 535 and I made a slight error on my range and hit spine. Dropped her again. She expired in moments. Both were complete pass throughs. Both did massive internal damage.

I have used the Barnes 100gr ttsx with my 257 dgr and have taken down 175+ deer and antelope, 5 elk. all big game shot from 50 yds to 666yds, all one shot kills, One elk was 384yds and went 50 yds. I have recovered 3 total bullets 2 weighted 100gr and one 87gr out of my son's elk at 165yds broke 2 ribs and went thru shoulder and found in the neck...

Berger also announced a .257" 133 Elite Hunter.

And I can vouch for the lethality of the 131 Blackjack on game.
My daughter took her pronghorn last year at 331 with the 131BJ in my 25SST @ 3238fps suppressed.

Hi.
Wow! That looks like something from one of the 'Alien' movies. That is an emphatic exit wound. I wager it did not go far.
Congratulations to your Daughter. That is a fine shot at over 300 yards.

Went about 20 yards in a semi-circle.

She is a stone cold killer, and an excellent shot. She has taken pronghorn at 331 & 391, and mule deer at 454, 532, 637. Not bad with the close shots either. Elk at 50 & 160, and javelina at 18 yards. Best shot to date was a squirrel at 741...on video.

Hi Bg
I am pleased you mentioned the ttsx. I have a box to try. We are allowed to sell our Venison and game meat dealers are increasingly asking for lead free bullets to be used. I had even considered trying the 80 grain one.
