Anybody rebarreled a Savage Model 40 Hornet?

After reading posts about a .17 Hornet I am considering building one. Looking for an inexpensive donor rifle I came across the Savage Model 40 but I don't know how the barrel is attached to the receiver. If it's threaded, I should be good to go, if it is a press in, I'm not ready to tackle it.

Any of you know if it is threaded? Have you rebarreled one? If so, how did it go?
