Hello, I am wondering if any of you have hunted Oregon's Metolius or White River units? I would like to know if there are any decent chances of bagging elk in those units. I've never hunted Oregon before. This would be for a first season general center fire rifle season. I'm not asking for your secrets, just a general synopsis. I'm also not asking for your sarcastic or pointless responses like, "elk are everywhere in Oregon you just gotta look". Real input please. Examples include local elk habits (north slopes, creek beds) nothing in this or that area, stay close to the reservation, etc. Also, when does the snow start getting too deep out in those areas and how far could a vehicle get on the roads?
Additionally, I have only 1 vehicle I share with my wife. A hunting buddy would be great if we could swing it.
