Anneling Flake on Rem. Brass ?

Rem. says its a by-product,or part of the process when anneling brass. I find it on the outside of the neck shoulder area and in side the neck. Seems very gritty to me.

Does anyone but me, clean this flake from both the outside and inside before reloading?

I have anneled a lot of brass, never had that problem. Maybe I am not doing something right! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Never heard of it before. What are you using to heat the brass?
