I purchased a Bergara Premier Mountain 2.0 Rifle in a 300 Win Mag. Scope is a Swarovski Z6 3-18x50 Riflescope Plex SFP BT
Gun will be used for hunting with 600 - 700 yards being tops. Mule deer / Elk
Looking for advise on bullets. I do all my own reloading
My older 300 win mag I shoot Swift 150 grain Scirocco
Would like to start out with 4 different type bullets to start with
Would like to move up to 165 or 180 grain bullets. Partitions or..??
Berger?
Swift?
Nosler?
Norma?
Hornady?
Barnes?
Sierra?
Any help would be appreciated.
THANKS

Nice set up! I don't have a Bergara, but my Tikka 300 Win Mag likes:

1. Hornady Interbond 180gr and RL22
2. Nosler Partition 180gr and RL22
3. Nosler AccuBond 180gr and H1000
4. Sierra Pro Hunter 180gr and RL22
5. Speer Hot Cor 180gr and H4831SC

It also likes AccuBond and Partition 200gr and IMR 7828, but I haven't refined the loads. For mule deer and elk, I would use 180gr or larger in 300WM.

I've been looking hard at these in 6.5 Creedmoor or PRC for a deer and pig rifle, but I haven't actually seen one yet. How do you like it? Fit and finish? Good for the money?

Have some Barnes TTSX BT 180 grains I was going to try.
I have a lot of IMR 4350 but haven't found a lot of load info for it. Have found some for H4350.

Good to hear. I've used a few Bergaras by now, and every one has been accurate.

my 300WM R700 really likes those 180 gr Barnes bullets too (not that it's ever exactly the same). I actually liked the regular hollow point TSX better, but both were good. Go on the Barnes website for load data with 4350.

I did but they only show H4350 not IMR 4350

I use 73gr R23 under a Barnes 175 LRX. RWS cases, Fed 215, crimped with FCD. Averages 3080fps. In a Bergara B14 Hunter. Only thing I changed was had it skim bedded and a Trigger Tech Special added. Handy rig!

Wow, rifle at 6.4 plus scope is gonna be light and hard kicking in 300WM. Although I think the 300WM doesn't start to strut until at least 200 grain, at that rifle weight I would stay down at 180's and maybe the 190 ABLR. The 180 Scirocco has always shot well in mine plus the 180 AB. Can't go wrong with either one. Partitions are little more difficult to get to print at longer ranges. If recoil becomes an issue, the 168 ABLR may also be worth looking at. Really nice looking rifle!

Currently Loading a box of each
180 grain Swift Scirocco
180 grain Nosler Accubond
180 grain Barnes TTSX BT
Thanks

I've recently tried Sierra 180 Gamechanger with RL26 pixie dust and my 300WM shot extremely well and it was an absolute laser at 3200fps in my 26" barrel. There is also a 165 Gamechanger that I shoot in my 300WSM that has decent BC and although it is not a traditional "bonded" bullet, it is tough enough for elk. The problem is finding these bullets!

215 grain hybrid, 212 or 200 grain eld-x, 190 grain ABLR and 190 grain accubond. These are the bullets I would test. I have tested most of them with good results.

Come on and step up to the biguns! 210 g Berger vld 300 wm Tikka t3 lite H4831 SC 76.8g 3.42 coal CCI magnum primer and hornady brass. Around 2900 FPS. As Always Start Low and work your loads up for safety. This is a must! One component changes everything! And tikkas like a lot of different bullets.
