Not sure if this is getting any circulation, but this is pretty ridiculous. Had some rifle scopes listed on Amazon and recently received an automated email stating they were removed for violating their policies as "restricted items". Full email pasted below for reference:

Hello from Amazon,

We are writing to let you know that the following detail pages have been removed from our catalog:
ASIN: B007FX5YO2, SKU: M3-V9OO-FUY1, Title: Rifle Scopes -
This product has been identified as an assault weapon, tool, or accessory, or a product marketed as an assault weapon part, tool, or accessory. If your product is not an assault weapon part, tool, or accessory, please remove any prohibited claims and marketing content from the product detail page, including any prohibited images, and appeal the restriction. For more information, please see the Explosives, Weapons, and Related Items help page - https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/external/200164950

Why is this happening?
We took this action because this product is not permitted for sale on Amazon.com. It is your obligation to make sure the products you offer comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and Amazon's policies.

What actions do I need to take?
- If any of the above ASINs are Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) offers, please initiate a removal request for the ASIN(s) referenced above to have your inventory sent to a location of your choosing. If you fail to initiate a removal request within 30 days of this notification, we may dispose of it in accordance with the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement and FBA policies. For more information on our FBA policies, please review https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/201030350 and https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/200140860.
- Within 48 hours of this warning, please review your listings and close, delete, or archive any listings that do not comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and Amazon's policies, including the product(s) listed above.

Please note that moving a restricted product listing to Inactive (Out of Stock) does not make the listing compliant. If you think your product was incorrectly identified as a restricted product on Amazon, close the listing immediately to ensure compliance while you appeal the restriction with Seller Support.

What happens if I fail to follow the above instructions?
Failure to properly close or delete all restricted product listings from your inventory may result in the deactivation of your selling account, and funds may be permanently held.

I knew it was futile, but I used their appeal link and tried to explain the obvious (these are hunting scopes and are no different than binoculars, telescope, etc.) Their response (laughable, pathetic, sad, alarming, enraging, etc., etc.):

Today was the icing on the cake. They send me another email that is supposed to clarify their BS response and say it's banned because of the following "phrase", which is nothing more than a picture of a hunter holding a hunting rifle! I could care less if I can sell on Amazon or not (already sold everything on CL and avoided their BS fees anyway) but this has really gotten under my skin. Their full final response with the dreaded "phrase" here with some "claim" that doesn't exist:

Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,

Thank you for your patience. We have reviewed your listing for ASIN B079YBPQVN and have determined that the ASIN will not be reinstated.

The ASIN "B079YBPQVN" cannot be reinstated as there are prohibited claims on the detail page, such as the phrase "(https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51HdO35S8HL.jpg)".

Such products are prohibited from making claims on Amazon. Once the claims are removed from the detail page please highlight the detail page changes and we will review for possible reinstatement.

This reaction from a company with such power as to be able to "make or break" someone's dream business would be funny, but this reality check is no joke.

Pretty genius, you have to hand it to them in a way. The left has gotten big tech to do the stuff that gov't can't do (yet) in an end-around the constitution and all in the name of free enterprise. Of course double standards do apply. A conservative business cannot refuse service to anyone but a marxist one sure can pick and choose.

This is how the cancel culture that's being employed by left is done. They are richer and only their voice matters so your voice is canceled. We have seen instances of this in history I choose not to get specific for fear of being canceled off this forum lol. Good luck all, we are in for a rough next few years.

It's really scary that the mis/ill/un informed are making the rules.
I think the ones making the rules are totally aware and informed. But the average person is not looking and is not aware, and wouldn't care if they were aware. They have "more important" things in their lives, and feel like they couldn't do anything about it anyway so why bother. Heck many in my own family are that way. As conservatives, we put our heads down and plow on. The kids still need fed and clothed, we still have jobs to do. We aren't like the libs who take up torches and march the streets when a baker won't make a gay cake.

It's really scary that the mis/ill/un informed are making the rules.
Okay, I have a question for you. This has been bothering me for a long time. Maybe you can help me out here. Why are all the uber-rich people--leftists? I look at the left and I see a huge percent of their tribe as non-working immigrants, non-working college indoctrinated dumbbells, or uber-political, because that is the only job they can get. It seems to me that 74 plus million people on the right ought to be worth listening to. Or am I just too stupid to understand this country?
