Anyone shoot these? Are they a tough bullet to get to shoot? Thinkin of trying the 162 out of my 280ai. A few years ago I tried the interbonds and couldn't get them to shoot for squat.

I have found the A-Max bullets to be very accurate, reasonably priced and generally easy to find.

The 162gr A-Max, fired from a semi-custom 7STW, proved to be one of the most deadly combinations I have ever used on whitetail.

Older Hornady reloading manuals recommended this bullet for "thin skinned biggame".

They are accurate and easy to reload. They like to be close to the lands, but not touching, from my experience.

They kill every thing that have shot at with them. Deer, Hogs, Sheep...all dead. Half the price of Bergers.

243 with 105 Amax, whitetail buck at 548 yards, between the ribs going in - baseball exit going out, lungs destroyed, buck traveled less then 20 yards. Coyote at 429 yards, ribs in - soccer ball sized exit, dead coyote pelt destroyed

While I don't hunt with them because I live in Copperfornia, I regularly shoot them in my 300WSM and 260 Rem.

Very accurate, very consistent.

I have shot 4 antelope with them and all drt!
Great accuracy and easy to get to shoot.

The 140gr. A-Max from my 6.5 Swede is pure death to whitetails, hogs and several African plains game. . .biggest being a water buck, about like our elk. The shot on the water buck was only about 175 yards and did not pass through, but his internal organs were so destroyed that the trackers didn't want to keep them. . .and they keep/eat everything! I am very interested in the 142gr. Accubond though. Until then, the 140gr. 6.5mm A-Max at 2800fps is a tuff cookie to beat! ! !

I run the 162 in my 7 mag. Kill plent well. Accurate too. Mine likes a good jump

Steel Slinger-- What twist in your 6.5 swede?? I saw a box of 140gr Amax today and they said 1-7.5" or faster twist. This is a round I'm considering for a Coues deer hunt this fall.
