Altering the HP meplat for terminal effect

Does anybody have any real-world data on this? I just started uniforming meplats in an attempt to increase terminal effect, but i just tried beveling the HP also with a very tiny round type drill bit from a Dremel tool kit handheld, and my have better luck with that without losing any BC at all...?

I'm hoping to get some time to work with this idea on some Bergers, I think that just a real light trimming may be enough to set them of more consistently. I'm trying to figure out a rig to catch bullets at 1000 yrds in a barrel of water so I can actually see what is happening.
