All setup for long range, then . . .

OMG! That's an amazing animal! You took a Callaway Warbird and handled it with the finesse of a Sand Wedge! Also, good to know you can trust the terminal performance of a long range load up close. Take 'em any way you can get 'em!

Got my Browning X Bolt Hells Canyon Long Range McMillan 28 Nosler all set up with good Leupold optics, an excellent shooting load using the 143 grain Hammer Hunter bullet and all dialed in. Then this buck shows himself to me at 100 yards last week in Colorado ! LOL Oh well, better to be prepared and not have to use it than not be prepared for a long range shot and need to do it. 216" of muley awesomeness. 30" wide, 40' of mass. Still in shock this great buck crossed my path.View attachment 157770 View attachment 157771 View attachment 157772

AMAZING animal!
Congratulations on your "lucky" sighting and results!!
My only concern after bagging something of that size and ranking is how the HECK can anything else compete, especially if you like to hunt for racks?!?
Next tag you'll end up having to "settle" for lesser animals just to fill the freezer. LOL

Very Nice Buck, Congrats!

Seeing big muley bucks always stirs my blood, but this is a giant. Can't imagine your thoughts in the seconds after seeing him and shooting .. probly something like "holy cow this is a shooter and I can't admire him now, I need to make a good shot and stay calm"... that's a cleaned up version..lol..Great great buck!

Awesome stud of a mule deer!!!

These type encounters have me ordering some Hammers for my 7RM. Working up a load for Bergers to shoot at steel but for this very reason I'm liking the Hammers more and more every day for hunting.
