Another Bear Season is here. Back to a favorite spot on the Peninsula for those big brownies

Spring seems very delayed on the Kenai Peninsula. Lotta snow remaining in the Kenai mountains for this time in May.

Was it more normal on the Alaska Peninsula?
They had a lot of snow this winter. Then it warmed up fast. Then got cold and stormy for a week leading into the opening of season. Warmed for a few days then a wind storm with 35-40 mph winds came through for 2-3 days. Then it went hot at the flip of a switch. So spring was later overall for us around the ugashik area

2 out of 3 hunters got their bears
My hunter was set on a 10 footer. He had opportunities at 9+ foot bears but it wasn't what his hunt dream was for.
We never saw the 10 footer he was dreaming of.
