This Vintage AJACK German rifle scope in 2.5x fixed power is a great topper to any vintage European rifle or anyone wanting a premium optic that will out-live their hunting days. This one has likely seen game (or engagements) we can only imagine.
The "70" designation indicates an antiquated light transmission rating. The scope barrel is 26.5mm overall length is 24.5cm or approx 9.5". Elevation adjustment only.
Low, 4 digit serial number - Ajack manufactured scopes from 1932-1943. They were often repurposed for the war effort and mounted to German sharpshooter rifles. As this one is marked "Germany" is was likley made for the greater European market and fitted to a high-end hunting rifle.
Lenses are clear and bright - lens coatings are intact. Eye relief is approx 4.5". Parallax adjustment via locking ring. German #1 Reticle is crisp and excellent in timber or on driven game.
Elevation adjustment only as was customary on these European low power scopes. 95% original bluing. Ring marks commensurate with age. No rust.
Purchased from Germany. Used one season on a Steyr Mannlicher Schoenauer and replaced this season with a 4x fixed. See last picture - factory scope mount for SMS/MCA w/factory mounts and 4x Geco w/26.5mm maintube.
This is the perfect compliment to your early London bolt rifle, war-time K98, Enfileld, or post war Mannlicher Schoenauer, Mauser, JP Sauer, or Drillings driven game gun.
Bid to win, Ajacks in this condition and this early are not common.
I would prefer to sell to LRH member. If this item receives no bids and is committed by an LRH member, I will end the auction early and honor the sale here.
