Advice on Leica 10x42 Geovid HD-R 2700 Rangefinding Binocular

So here's the deal. I have a pair of Leupold 10x42 HD Guide binos, and Leupold RX 2800 TBR-W rangefinder. I have an Elk hunt this fall and thinking of upgrading by combining the two. Euro Optic has the Leica 10x42 Geovid HD-R 2700 on sale for 2100.00 now. My question is, how much better will the glass be over what I have, and will I be able to get a profile for a 6.5 Prc shooting 140 gr Berger VLD's when I range. 600 yards would be my max hunting range. Before I buy y'all's opinion if you've had one or got one.

Guess I should have mentioned that these will be for hunting only. Not banging steel at a 1000 yards.

Don't have mine yet, but my Nikon laserforce binoculars kicked the bucket (glass is fine, but rangefinder doesn't display anymore and Nikon no longer has the parts to repair these) and I just ordered a set of the Leica's after some research and forum surfing.

I think these are a great option and for hunting purposes I don't think there is anything else that compares for size/glass quality/price. The sig's are great rangefinding binoculars, but some people are not happy with the bluish tint of the glass. Regardless, no one expects them to compare to Zeiss/Swaro/Leica for glass quality. And, the Zeiss/Swaro are significantly more expensive. Having had a set of range finding binoculars before, the convenience is huge over a set of binoculars and rangefinders. I think Leica's ballistic program is good (I've played with it on my smartphone), so as a hunter I decided to make the significant investment and get a pair.

If you can get them for $2100, I'd grab them and not look back.

I'm not sure on this m9del, but in the past Leica has had an R model (for range finding) and a B model (for ballistics). You might want to check that

You were rite. Only the B models have the built in ballistic profiles, plus the ability to put in a custom profile. Talked with a Leica rep and he explained it. Also he had a demo of the B 2200 for 1400.00 Asked about the warranty as I seen in another thread that it was a year. He told me I have full warranty.
Can't wait to get them. Always wanted some top tier binoc with great glass. Thanks Again!!! This Forum is The Best

As far as the Leica preloaded ballistics vs a custom model the preloads will generally work fine. I had the 1600b lrf and used it for my 6.5-284. I had good enough matching that it worked fine.

I have a pair of the 1st Gen 10X42 LRF's for sale (very, very good condition) Fantastic glass, however no ballistics info, just yardage to 1300.

Absolutely go for the Leicas. They were the 1st range finding binoculars and still the very best. Be sure they have Bluetooth capability to work with a Kestrel 5700 Elite weather meter/ballistic engine if you ever get one.

Also they can work with a Bluetooth capable scope like the SIG SIERRA6 that will instantly give you a lighted holdover dot (and, with the Kestrel, a wind hold dot) for a complete firing solution and better chance for filling your tag.
