i have seen several people say that when adjusting for a shot you need to go past and then come back down to your adjustment and a couple others say you need to do this when re zeroinging your rifle exept come back up to your zero. is this true and will it only afect follow up shots if true?

The thinking behind this is that just because you make an adjustment, the erector may not have moved properly...this would have the same effect as tapping your knobs after an adjustment. I have had a couple of MK4's, Aimpoints and ACOG's I had to tap or over adjust and back down to get to settle where it needs to be. So I usually do it...just to make sure.
