Adding moa to a 20moa rail

As Taylorbok stated do your tall target test - and just measure the offset, you should not have to do any math or conversions just enter the measurement into your program after its in then fire up a test or mock shoot in your balistics program and see if it is telling you that you have aim below the aim point now at the 100 yard mark then you know you're set.

Thanks....I got the Burris rings in on Friday. Mounted them on Saturday morning. My offset was 20.625moa. Hung a tall pice of cardboard at 100yrd. Marked my point of aim near the bottom, took a 2 foot level drawed a level line up just past what would be my poi. Marked 20.625 up from poa. Made a level line at that mark. Took me 4 rounds to hit center of poi. Took it to 1000yrds hit center plate. Went to 1250, dailed up 6.875moa, put 20 rounds on 12" plate. I don't think I could ask for any better. Thanks again to everyone.

Little late, I should have stated, test @ zero offsets. Then perform the tall target test. I also "shim" my rails with brass then fill in with devcon. This maybe out side of most comfort zones but works very well plus you "bed" the rail @ the same time.

I have done it a bunch now. I anneal the brass shim so it forms to the shape of the receiver before I add devcon / JB WELD. I use shoe polish as a release agent. I've done this a bunch. Works well, especially when you need ALOT of elevation.

I did this many years back with various mount types. Always used JB weld or a variation of it. Worked great.

These days I use canted rails and or Burris XTR signature rings. Not too difficult to get 60 moa on a rig.
