Need advice...

Can some1, tell me why you would sleeve an action ? I have never seen one, except on the www. Whats the pros & cons ???
Is it for a longer barrel and stiffend up the action..?
I got a Remington short (22-250) going to make i switch barrel with 6-284 maybe.
If i want a 28-30" barrel should i sleeved the action...?
Please tell me.
One good reason to sleeve are: Nobody at home know nothing about it...

Paal, sleeves are used to strengthen the action and to provide more bedding surface. Usually beneficial with the big heavy barrels. You say you are going with a 28-30" barrel, what contour? Also without extensive work it makes your action single shot. RandyB.

Thanks RandyB

I'am going single shot.
I have not decided, what contour i'am going for.
Was thinking for L.Walther barrel for the cal.6-284, i dont know the contour.
But i want a heavy one with flutes....
Actually i have no reason for the fluting, except i like it. And that's a reason good enough, isnt it.....
