A new 6mm Creed and a box of 87 gr. Absolute Hammer‘s have found their way into my stable. I’m not exactly sure yet what to think, but following is my load data from the first couple of tests. (For the record, Hornady 103 gr. factory loads used for break-in averaged 2951 FPS. All loads are 3 shot average, and in every example the ES for the 3 rounds was under 20 FPS.) 6mm Creed w/87 grain Absolute Hammer Rifle: 22” carbon barrel AllTerra Mt. Shadow (1-7.5 twist) Brass: Nosler (new w/neck tension .003 (no crimp) Primer: Federal 210 COAL: 2.738 Powder: IMR 4166 39.0 gr @ 3150 FPS 40.0 gr. @ 3252 FPS 41.0 gr @ 3350 FPS (slight ejector mark) 42.0 gr @ 3447 FPS (Heavy Bolt Lift, and serious ejector marks.) (Pulled the reminder of loads.) Accuracy was outstanding with all of the above. Was a little surprised to find pressure so quickly. Powder: Winchester Staball 6.5 ((all other details same as above)) 45.0 gr. @ 3151 FPS 46.0 gr. @ 3232 FPS 46.5 gr. @ 3304 FPS 47.0 gr. @ 3332 FPS 47.5 gr. @ 3401 FPS (very slight ejector mark) 48.0 gr @ 3410 FPS ( slight ejector mark, but group opened up to nearly 1”, while all others were easily under 1/2”. (All at 100 yds., with MagnetoSpeed attached.)
