Absolute Hammer load data

Woah! Might be interesting to see how that does in winter. I see @unclecroc is from Pennsylvania, don't know how cold it gets there but no doubt colder than it is in august haha.
It was about 67 last night. I wanted to work up a load in the warmer weather in case I use this load on red tag deer which takes place in the spring. It could be anywhere from 60 all the way down to the teens here in rifle season. I hunt in a heated shanty so the temperature stays around 55-60 during season.

6.5 Sherman Max
Sherman Brass Once Fired
Federal 210M Primers
RL 26 @ 69.5 grains
Average velocity is 3,510 fps
COAL 2.795"
24" Proof Sendero 1:8 Twist
Original pressure ladder below. I know I started high but I kinda knew where I was starting.

28 Nosler
Absolute Hammer .284" 155 gr
32" Bartlein barrel 8.5" twist
Nosler brass - annealed, full length sized, neck expander mandrel
Fed 215M primer
COAL 3.540"
Retumbo 84 gr; ambient temp 85 deg F
Velocity 3476 fps

Even with soft Nosler case heads, no ejector print. Primers somewhat flattened but not all the way to the edge. Minimal primer cratering.

0.060" jump resulted in 4 shot group 1/2 inch at 200 yards, and 4 shot es 8 fps.

0.020" jump also resulted in 1/2 inch group at 200 yards, but es of 30 fps.

Other jumps typically resulted in four-shot groups 3/4 to 1 1/4" at 200 yards, and es 6 to 25 fps.

One other Retumbo powder charge yielded 1/4 moa at 0.060" jump: 80 gr - 3291 fps, es 16.

Rifle is Savage FCP.

Here is a load for a 30-06, Interarms, 24 inch barrel, 1-10 twist, 151 grain absolute hammer, lapua brass, cci br2 primer, 58.3 grains of Shooters World Precision powder, FCD 1/4 crimp, 3162 fps, SD of 1.7, ES of 3, 0.3 inch group at 200 yards
That's an awesome load. I love my 162 AH load at 3024 fps in my 30-06, but I'm a velocity junkie, so you've got me thinking about going to the 151 AH. What similar burn rate is the Shooters World Precision powder close to, since I really don't know much about it??

6XC, 22" PBB barrel 10T 5R, Savage 110E action,
69gr AH, Peterson brass, COL 2.541", no crimp, .002" neck tension
IMR-8208 hit pressure signs at 41.0 gr/3686 fps. Stiff bolt lift and extraction at 42 gr/3782 fps. Best group .296", lowest ES was 1.25 at 41.5 gr
Ramshot TAC hit pressure at 42 gr/3755 fps, stiff bolt lift and stiff extraction. Best group, .298, ES 8
Backing down loads to shoot for groups.
These loads are absolute max in my rifle and likely over 70,000 psi work up carefully

Seabeeken,
Need primer info?

The temps have dropped here into the lower 60s steady so I got the 30-06 to the range.
Ruger m77 Hawkeye ftw hunter 24" barrel
Winchester 30-06 brass
Remington 91/2 magnum primer
151 absolute hammer
1/4 crimp using lee die
Imr 4064

Accuracy was ok about 1 1/2 inches plus a flyer or two but the core group was the size of a golfball. No pressure signs throughout the test.
