Shots were moving a bit around from the new brass, moved downward from 52-56gn, then back up but also laterally from 56-60gn. I also wasn't super duper careful with charge weights since it was a ladder. POI was approx 2" left, 2" down from the 180 HHs. 180HHs were basically on with the 168 TSXs shot the last time I adjusted the scope. Max vertical dispersion for the ladder was ~5" over 336fps, compared to ~1" over 160fps for the 180 HHs. I got the 180HH up to 3000fps.

Also, this was the first time I had a failure to catch a shot on my LabRadar. I 100% blame the guy shooting a braked 300 Mag about 18 inches from my head on one side, and the guy shooting 300 BLK supers from a braked 8" upper on the other side of me. Tried a new range earlier this week, now I remember why I'm a curmudgeon and don't go to new places.

Previously fired cases were annealed, FL sized with no button, mandrel expanded to .3050", and had a Butterbean 1/4 FCD crimp. New cases were expanded with an LE Wilson New Brass mandrel and loaded.

58-61 were close together. 60,61 touching.

Going to do finer test on 60-61 range.

Looked at the spread sheet and didn't see what I was looking for.

300 win mag 151 AH with a powder I have. The loads listed weren't with a powder I have. I've got several options.
RL26, H4350, IMR4350, N565, H4198, H1000, IMR4064, Varget, Benchmark, Ramshot TAC and probably a few others that are way too slow for this application.

H4350.

Start at 70 and go up in 1.0gr increments until you get ejector marks. Watch your target and look for a node. Usually load mine about 2 grains under first sign of pressure.

I would guess you'll be close to 80 grains.

Need a recommendation for powder to use in a 6.5 Max with 123 Absolute.
Barrrel is 20" & running suppressed.
Did some fireforming using Re-26, good results but not sure I'm getting complete burn. Would like to try a faster burn rate that will get complete burn & decent velocity & be easier on the suppressor.
Any ideas? I have Varget, H4350, H4831sc,
Re-16, & access to a few others.
Thx.

GL, thx…. I have looked over both of those sources & found several options.
Was hoping to narrow it down a bit for my application before I bail on the 26.

( Reference: Absolute Data
lejuch 6.5 max data pg.25)

Looks like Varget or Vhit N540 may give the desired results for my setup.
Good burn rate, good velocities,
For shorter barrel length.

First time working up a load from scratch. I've always worked from reloading manuals, so this is a new learning experience. Working slow and easy. Lol

.264 Win Mag
Interarms Mark X
26" Douglas Barrel 1-8" twist
Norma Brass (new)
CCI 250 primers
123 gr Absolute

Ladder tested with Ramshot Magnum. Maxed out at 73.0 gr. @ 3400 FPS. Got bolt lift resistance after that. Will shoot a few loads for groups this weekend.

I think I can get more velocity with faster powders, but it's practically deer season here in TX so I'm going with this for now.

Man, that's plenty fast. 3430 with the 116's in my buddies 270 wsm has killed 3 big bucks instantly. One of the bad shots from his boy didn't cause too much meat damage which is the real good thing. Said there was some blood shot but nothing like what he expected.

I wouldn't go slower powder you are going to lose velocity. Try a little faster powder like RL26, Viht N560, 7828SSC…….

At 500. Pleased for a light close range bullet.
