Absolute Hammer load data

Please post your loads for the Shermans so I can get them in the spreadsheet! I have s 7SS next on my build list. Still messing with the 6.5 MAX. 85gr HH next up😜

I will as soon as I get thing's squared away and get some accuracy. Just giving a broad velocity on a few powders for now.
Still have a 6.5 Sherman and a 6.5 SS to deal with, but will get to posting 7max soon.

A great job you are doing, keeping the info posted. Thank you!

Finally got to do a little pew-pewing today with my Dad's birthday gift to me, his 1975 weatherby mark V.

.300 weatherby
Weatherby Mark V
26" tube (i think)
Weatherby brass, new
CCI-250
178gr AH
IMR-4955
1/8 turn on a Lee FCD
3.610" COAL
indoor range ~70deg.

78gr--error
79gr--error
80gr--3,253
81gr--3,299 very faint ejector mark
81.5gr--3,313 little more ejector mark
82gr--3,340 blew a primer! She got hot quick!

Should I try a slower powder? 4955 is around the superformance/4831 burn rate. Or should i up it with IMR-4451 in that 4350 rate with 6 or 7 less grains to start?

I was hoping to get a safe 3,350 out of this one since factory 180gr accubonds shoot at 3,200. 3,300fps with a 178gr bullet will still whop an elk this fall so if 80.5-81gr shoots well I won't really complain.

Oh, admit it! You really were looking for at least 3,500, weren't you? :)

These have to seat so deep to still fit in the magazine there's not much room left.
For what it is worth, a lot of us shooting AHs are getting good results from H100V and StaBall 6.5. They have almost identical burn rates but the SB6.5 might give you better case capacity since it is ball powder, rather than the larger extruded powder of H100V. If not those two, then RL16 & 17 are a little faster and IMRs4350 and 4451are a little faster, yet. Personally, I'm using H100V in both my 280AI and 300WM with good results.

Rl 26 has been unicorn sparkle dust in lost of calibers so I always try that. And rl 16 would be another one I would try so I guess to put them in order of what I would personally try
Rl 16
Rl 26
H4831.
