8-40 Base Screws...Necessary?

Have any of you found that the standard 6-48 screws in most commercial actions' scope mounting holes to be inadequate for holding the heavier scope/mount setups? I am considering upgrading on my Tomahawk before the scope is mounted. Here's the setup:
M700 SS LA
RDP custom 30MOA Base
Night Force Rings
Leupold 8.5-25x50 LR
I know it can't hurt to upgrade, but is it worth the effort and expense???

I've had both and can't find any difference. I've pretty hard on my rifles as folks that know me will tell you but I haven't broken and mount bases off the rifle using either #6 or #8 screws. I've NEVER heard of anyone breaking a scope base loose from the rifle either on hunting trips or during sniper stalks or field exercises.

But, I do like to have the #8's on my rifle, it makes me feel a little better knowing that it's a little tougher (in theory).

My vote is to get the work done and never look back.
