So my factory 24" Savage runs a 140 grain Sierra at about 3150-3160. Haven't tried to push it hard. What does it take to get 190 to 2900+?

If I had lots of time and cash I would jump
on this. I have ran a 7 Rem Mag for about 37 years.
Dreamed about the 7 STW after reading articles in Shooting Times way back in the day. Someday I may step up to a "hot rod".

So my factory 24" Savage runs a 140 grain Sierra at about 3150-3160. Haven't tried to push it hard. What does it take to get 190 to 2900+?

in a 24" bbl... a bigger chambering.. I'd go with a 7stw or 7rum and a bit longer barrel to loaf it a bit. Bigger 7mm's are hard on the throat to start with; it's easy to turn a 1K+ bbl. life rifle into a sub 500 shot rifle with hot loads.
