7PRC loads & velocities

I'm very curious how hard and fast you can push the Hammer bullets in the 7prc. They say speed kills with the hammers so can you get the 140'ish grain class of Hammer Hunters up to 3300'ish FPS? I would think it would be possible but would really like some real world experience.

I have no problem getting the 143 Hammers to shoot at 3,200fps in my 7WSM so "3,300 ish" should be doable in a 7PRC.

Good info on the N560. May give that a try.

I'm going to start testing it a bit more. On my 7 saum, I gained 100 fps over H4831sc when building a load for 143 hammers. The only drawback I've found is that it's not as temp stable as other VV powders.

?? H4831 SC is the most temp stable powder in existence (according to the charts) its listed .03 which is basically no change

N560 is not as temp stable as other VihtaVouri powders I've tested. H4831sc has been great for temp stability.

I fail to see the advantage of this cartridge over other 7mms like the Saum and wsm. These velocities are easily achieved in both
I agree. My 24" 7 Rem mag with 1:8.4 TW shoots the 180 hybrid at a comfortable 3,000 nice wide node at the lower 2950. ADG, N565

Anybody stoked a 7 prc with h1000 and a 180gr?
Helped my GS work up a 7 Max load that was 3050 with that same combo a few years ago. Max has what, 4 grs less capacity?

I just shot the first 5 rounds out of my new 7mm PRC. It was the factory 175 Gr eldx precision hunter ammo. First shot out of the new barrel was 2905. I shot that one at 25 yards to get it on paper. Went back to 100 yards, shot a sight in shot and then moved the it closer to the bullseye. That shot was 2913. 3 shot group was 2925, 2932 and 2944. I suspect it will get fast as the barrel breaks in. But it measured .434" center to center. Not too bad.

It's the Hells Canyon Armory Carbon Killer that is built off a Tikka T3x action with their 24" carbon barrel and a mesa precision altitude stock.
