7mm sherman max

22in barrel 7 Max tried the 145 bulldozer 2's and hit about 3150 with a little too much pressure using N550 and 3065 with pressure and N560. Was running these bullets to hit over 3200 and hopefully closer to 3250. I have N555 and RL23 to try too? Probably switching to 162's if I can't get the speeds I want... What have guys been getting with 145's and 162's? Please give me powder and barrel length.

@seekoutside what was your coal with the 145's?
Can't remember coal but I know I was .080" off the lands. Rl 26 is where speed is at. N560 and rl 23 won't get what 26 gets. Same tube length as you running 80 thou off and I'm still faster than rl23 with no pressure. Shot tonight with the badlands SBD and still had my single digit node @ 3263-3272 fps.

I saw pressure with n560 and rl 23 when I hit around 3160 fps.

Hey guys, I'm looking to jump into the Sherman nuthouse. I'm in Helena, MT and looking for a good Gsmith in the area. It doesn't have to be here but within 100 miles would be nice.

These are jump sensitive. I found best numbers from 75 thou off to .1 off. Might be able to get some speed back by backing off the lands. That's what the trick was for me.

Hmmm I'm not a huge RL26 fan besides the speed advantage. Been shooting .030 off so maybe that's the biggest issue. Really tempted to just go straight to the 162 ELD M and RL23? I have access to most powders... Wish I could get 3100 out of the 22in barrel with em but 3050 would make me happy if it's not do able or even 3k+. It'll get hunted with a lot and I love using 195 and 215/230 bergers so thinking the ELD M will be close enough. I really appreciate the info...
