7mm sherman max

Not bad. I was expecting 2850ish I have 570 and 565. I got basically the same results as you did, but with a tick more 570. 70.6 gr was max case fill without compression, 3005fps and some signs of pressure. I'll load up another batch at 69.7 or 69.8 where there's a nice flat spot at around 2960fps. I got the 565 because I can't leave things alone. I'm fine, in fact happy with 2960 and a 195 Berger, but... what if the 565 has a bigger node or lower ES. In the words of Albert Popwell "I gots ta know"

How fast was 63-64 grains? I ran into the same pressure problem. In my standard 7 saum I use 64.2 and 65.2 was pressure. 24" barrel is 2900 FPS with H1000 184's.

Chronograph 63 and 63.5 grains this morning.
63 grains
2842 average FPS
19 es
10 sd

63.5 grains
2861 average fps
24 es
12 sd

Went and did pressure testing for N565 and 180's today.
60 gr 2772
61 gr 2855
62 gr 2904
63 gr 2943
64 gr 3030 slight ejector mark
65 gr 3065 ejector mark
66 gr 3108 sticky bolt
So the question I have, since I have a neuclus action with a Springfield ejector system, other than sticky bolt lift how will I know pressure signs?

Finally got my blank from bartlein on Wednesday. Had it chambered and threaded a few hours later. Opened up the CTR barrel channel and painted to seal. Running my fireforming loads and shooting 1/2 MOA. I'm ok with that. The group in the picture was rounds 21-25 down the barrel.

With N565, you might want to 64

Coming along nicely!!

I have a bear hunt this fall in North Carolina and I have been working on a load with Sierra Soft Points 175 gr.
I had a 8lb jug of IMR 4831 laying around and decided to try. To my surprise the powder has been shot very
well in temps from 55 degrees to 75 degrees in GA.
IMR 4831 54.5 gr
Sierra SP 175 gr
Federal 215M
New Brass ADG
5 shot: 10 shot: 10 shot:
Avg 2649 2654 2691
ES 26 37 27
SD 11 9 7

55.0 gr 55.5 gr 56.0gr
3 shot 3 shot 3 shot
Avg 2683 2708 2732
ES 6 22 28
SD 2 11 12

I know it is very slow but has been very consistent for the intended purpose.

57gr of IMR 4831 and 162 AMAX fireforming is giving me 2700 FPS on my 26" bartlein barrel. It's still speeding up too after 60 rounds.
Does it take two firings to fully fire form these? Just wondering if I should run them again with some real pressure before I really start dialing my load in?

no, you should be fine where you are!

I test fired a 195 EOL and a 190 ATIP with 65gr of N570 into the berm out back. Got my seater and sizer all setup.
Lands are at 3.163" COL with the 195 and 3.144" with the 190. I ordered a throater from Manson. I might take the lands out to about 3.200 on the 195. I gotta do a little more figuring. They look sweet loaded long in my LA AICS mag.
