I worked up a load for my Ruger M77 shooting 180 grain Bergers, H1000 powder, Rem brass, and CCI 250 primers. I started at 63.5 grains of powder and went up to 68.0 grains. The best group it shot was 1/2" at 100 yards. The bullets are seated .050 off the lands. I had to seat them that deep to clear the magazine. I am going to play with the seating depth to see if I can tighten the group up a little more.

I have been using H1000. I shoot Hornady 162gr Interbonds, pretty basic round these days. Shoots well though and took a goat at 700yds this last week with it so I am pleased. Probably about the best powder for 7mag with heavier bullets. Others have good luck with 4831 I believe also.

Sorry, I meant to say Interlocks, not Interbonds

Just curious as to what kind of velocity you are getting out of that load and bullet.
H1000 seems to be one of the better powders for the heavier bullets.

I am not sure what kind of velocities I am getting. By the spec of books and by doing some searching as to what some other people are getting, I am shooting 71.0gr H1000 with that 162gr Interlock and CCI 250 primers. Seems what most people are getting out of that is around 3100fps, but that is just an estimate.

I finally got a good scope with a good turret system on it now so that I can run a MV and do some shooting to get a good chart built so we'll see I guess.
