[QUOTE="MudRunner2005, post: 1099286, member: 12995"] I've been shooting 7mmRM's and STW's for almost 14 years now. I also love anything Ackley Improved or Ackley designed (currently have 3 Ackleys). I have a 7mmRM Improved designed in my program that I made up years ago, but other than the cool and unique factor, you won't gain much by "improving" it. You only gain about 4 grains of useable capacity (7RM - 80.7 : 7RMI - 84.1) with maxed-out specs. The only real advantage at that point is the 40* shoulder helps to prevent brass growth, so you don't have to trim brass as often. With that small of a capacity increase in that large of a case, you might gain about 50 fps, not the usual 100+ like most AI calibers. I think you would be just as happy with a standard 7mmRM. You'll be amazed what a standard old 7mmRM can do with a good moderately-slow burning powder like 7828 SSC or 7977, and 168 or 180 Berger VLD's. Brass is really easy to find for the STW if you know what to look for, and don't mind taking 1 trip through the STW FL sizing die before you shoot them...
