Looking to see if anyone has any good load data for the 7mm prc shooting the 180 berger hybrid. I have quite a bit of h1000 that I'd like to use as well as cci 250 primers. A good start point would be appreciated
Berger has an extensive data sheet that uses their 175 Elite Hunter bullet. That would be a good place to start. Hodgdon has on-line data for the 7PRC using Hornady 162gr and 180gr ELD-M bullets. Their data seems conservative, but it is helpful.
You could also contact Berger for data on their 180 Hybrid. If you get it, post it here.
This weekend I had some decent success with the Berger 180 Hybrid with H1000, Retumbo, ADG brass, and Fed GM210M primers. With Retumbo, I went from 66.5 to 68.0 grains. 66.5 and 67.3 yielded great accuracy. With
H1000, I went from 65.8 to 67.4 grains. I have to figure out why two shots touch and then a flyer. The velocities were good. 68 grains of Retumbo is the bottom right target and it ran 2862 fps. The bottom right target for H1000 was 67.4 grains and it yielded 2923 fps. Neither charge had pressure signs. They both yielded single digit SDs on 4 of 5 loads.
I loaded the Berger 180 VLD Hunting with H1000, ADG brass, and CCI 34 primers. 68.6 grains is a true winner at a COL of 3.300" and 3.3340". Both groups were sub-MOA and put me near 3k fps. 3.300" yielded 2980 fps and 3.3340" yielded 2993 fps with SDs of 5.0 and 6.7, respectively. I got very light ejector marks when I shot 69.8 grains. It was 28 degrees when I shot these loads. I am excited because this is a suppressed 22" barrel and I have about 225 rounds through this rifle, so it should speed up a little.
