7mm on 300 winchester magnum

how much is this round over a 7 mm remington given equal barrel lengths ,say 26 inches.bullets of interest are 160 to 180 grain.

If hunting the lower 48 then not enough difference to worry about!

Given equal bullet weights, nothing tangible other than the 7mm bullets will have higher BC and sectional density.

As Tim pointed out 7 s have a bit more bc and sectional density for about the same weight bullet but 30 s offer bigger diameter and can go quite a bit heavier. If used around big bears or for Africa I would take the 300wm every time even though the 7 mag has probably killed plenty of both. Other than that it's just personal preference.
