7mm mag twist rate question

Does a 1-9 twist rate stabalize the 180 bergers. Does anyone use this twist rate with 180s and how well do they shoot. Or do i need to get a 1-8 twist. Any info is much appreciated.

My brother-in-law shoots a Savage in 7mm Rem Mag. I believe his twist is either a 1 in 9" or 9.5", and he has no problem stabilizing the Berger 180 gr. VLD's.

hb, per Berger's site 1 in 9 will work for the 180's. Most factory 7mm Rem are 1 in 9 1/4 or 9 1/2. The 168 VLD is awesome in these slower twists. Good luck
