Looking for a good load, Im shooting 168 VLDs in a 7MM mag. Ive heard good things about Retumbo, H1000, 7828 and mag pro, any ideas gentlemen? Best primer???

I've had best results with H1000, Win. brass, and Fed. 215m. I had good results with Retumbo and the other same components. Check with Berger for starting loads.

I tried several powders from the books, but ended up with 65.0 gr of RL22 for my sweet spot using Winchester brass, Fed 215M primer, 168 gr VLD seated .020 off the lands to fit my magazine. Good luck

I use Fed 215 primers, H1000, and Remington Brass. I worked up some loads, starting at 65 gns all the way to 72gns. Started seeing signs of pressure at 71 grains. The best grops were had at 67.5 grains, and I had identical groups at 70.5 grains. Best group .6

To be honest, I had matching groups using the Hornady Superformance loads...which surprised me.

WORK UP TO THIS LOAD.... your AO and rifle !

71 grains Retumbo
215M Primers
168 VLD's
3040 fps here at 4650 asl...

im using 67.5 grains of H1000 with cci primers and seating them .010 off the lands. my best group was 5 shots for .338". i tried reloader22 but didnt get anything better than about 2 inch groups. btw 67.5 gr is the max recommended load.

funny thing is that im getting groups that barely average moa with hornady supermax
